Macintosh computers pre-installed with Mac OS X 10.4.4 at the factory include printer drivers and PostScript Printer Description files (PPDs) for many printer models. This article contains a list of all printer drivers and PPD files included with Mac OS X 10.4.4 for Intel-based Macs. Some printer files included with Mac OS X 10.4.4 for Intel-based Macs might not be included with previous Mac OS X versions, and vice-versa. (more…)

iPhoto ‘08: Viewing videos in iPhoto ‘08 on Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard may need QuickTime 7

If you have upgraded to Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard and you use iPhoto ‘08,* playing videos from within iPhoto by double-clicking them may not cause them to play. You will need to install QuickTime 7 (an optional install from the Snow Leopard Install Disc) in order to continue viewing videos in your iPhoto library. *Note: Watching videos in iPhoto ‘09 (version 8.0.4 or later) can be done without any additional installs of QuickTime. In order to achieve maximum performance when integrating Promise VTrak RAIDs into an existing Xsan 2 volume that is composed of Apple Xserve RAIDs, the Promise VTrak RAIDs should not be included in storage pools that are composed of Apple Xserve RAIDs. Xsan 1.4.2 and earlier: cvcp does not copy extended attributes for individual file copies

In Xsan 1.4.2 and earlier, copying an individual file using cvcp does not copy the file’s extended attributes. Since preservation of a file’s extended attributes is essential for proper functioning of many file types, you should avoid copying files with cvcp in this way. (more…)
